A conditions score is a planning guide, not a catch prediction or permission to launch. Check local conditions and your skipper’s advice.

How to read the score

Higher scores mean lighter wind, smaller waves and less rain in the forecast. Your fishing spot, experience and local conditions still matter.

Before you head out

Harbour comfort

Wind and tide often matter more than open-water swell for sheltered harbour trips.

Sea exposure

Backline, mid deep, and deep sea fishing trips feel swell and wind much sooner than protected water.

Paddleski caution

Launch and return safety depend on shorebreak, wind build-up, current, your fitness, and local buddy or club guidance.

Launch decision

A conditions score is not permission to launch. Your skipper and official guidance decide.

Common questions

Does a high score mean I’ll catch fish?

No. The score compares wind, gusts, wave height and rain. It helps you compare conditions, but it cannot predict catches. Tide, daylight and local knowledge add context.

What do the wind and sea numbers mean?

Wind is shown in kilometres per hour, followed by the direction it comes from. Sea height is in metres. When a second number is shown in seconds, it is the time between swells.

What time are high and low tide?

Low 19:00 -0.82m, high 12:00 0.42m These are modelled tide times for the selected day, not navigation data.

Can I check another area or day?

Yes. Change the area or date at the top. Today and Tomorrow are shortcuts; the date picker also includes recent days. Every time shown is local to the selected area.

Can this forecast decide whether it’s safe to launch?

No. Check local sea state, shorebreak, weather changes and official guidance. Your skipper or club and your own experience should guide launch and return decisions.

Weather and marine forecasts by Open-Meteo using national weather-provider models.

Marine sea-level and current data is modelled and is not suitable for navigation or official launch decisions.
